First Lady of Maldives Madam Fathmath Ibrahim launched the Youth Career Expo 2017, this evening in Hulhumalé.
This expo was launched at the official function held at Rehendhi School. Madam Fathmath was accompanied by Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, other cabinet members, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Mohamed Saiman, management and staff of HDC and the Ministry.
Youth Career Expo 2017 is organized by Housing Development Corporation jointly with Ministry of Economic Development. This is the first ever job fair to be held in Hulhumalé.
Youth Career Expo 2017 aimed to bring together a cross‐section of youth from diverse backgrounds with employers looking to hire a youthful workforce. Furthermore, this initiative showcased available employment opportunities within Hulhumalé and greater Malé region to youths in the country.
With the fast paced developments taking place in Hulhumalé presenting a number of job opportunities in many diverse sectors, HDC believes that an expo such as this is the best platform for youth to learn about the many career fields and options on offer.
This expo was participated by more than 20 prospective employers, offering thousands of job opportunities. The expo was opened to the public from 10am this morning and will continue until 1030pm tonight with keynote sessions, entertainment activities and live music performances.
HDC aims to continue this program annually.
